Our story
Our Story
It all started with a WiFi installation… literally.
Eddie and Maruschka met in Nelspruit in 2021 when Eddie arrived to install her WiFi. Eddie, who was already running an ISP with his dad at the time, was normally pretty comfortable talking about all things internet — but apparently not when Maruschka opened the door. He stuttered, forgot his words, and, well… you could say there was an instant connection. Pun very much intended.
They started seeing each other soon after, and a beautiful love story unfolded.
Like most good stories, though, theirs wasn't without a few plot twists. At the end of 2022 they hit a rough patch, and Maruschka packed her bags and moved to Cape Town for a fresh start. It didn't take long for them to realise that life apart wasn't quite what either of them wanted. They found their way back to each other, but there was one small problem: a whole lot of kilometres between them.
The connection stayed strong. Long distance, however, sucked.
So Eddie made the big move to the Cape, where he joined Maruschka in the financial industry. Before long, two became three when they welcomed their son into the world in 2024. Shortly afterwards, they got married.
Twice, actually.
Apparently once just wasn't enough.
In March 2025, the little family made Robertson their home. By August, Eddie realised it was time to get back to what he knew and loved — connecting people. And so, together, Eddie and Maruschka started SkuifNet Connect.
Maruschka's exact words at the time were:
“I'll be a silent partner, but I never want to work in WiFi.”
Three months later, she left the financial industry and joined SkuifNet full-time.
So much for the silent partner.
Today, SkuifNet feels less like a job and more like another member of the family. They've poured their hearts into building a business they genuinely love — one centred around people, service, integrity and doing things the right way.
Most importantly, they want to build SkuifNet with God at the centre of it, staying true to their values even as the business grows.
Because at the end of the day, this isn't just about WiFi.
It's about building something meaningful. Something they're proud to put their names behind. Something that serves their community well.
And maybe, one day, something their son will be proud to inherit.
After all, SkuifNet started the same way their story did…
with one really good connection.
